Bhavani invested an amount of Rs. 13900 divided in two different schemes, A and B at the simple interest rate of 14% per annum and 11% per annum respectively if the total amount of simple interest earned in two year be Rs. 3508, what was the amount invested in Scheme B?

Correct Option: 1
Let's say amount in Scheme A = xx \newline Then amount in Scheme B = 13900x13900 - x
Total interest = Interest from A + Interest from B
3508=14×x×2100+11×(13900x)×21003508 = \frac{14 × x × 2}{100} + \frac{11 × (13900-x) × 2}{100}
3508=28x100+22(13900x)1003508 = \frac{28x}{100} + \frac{22(13900-x)}{100}
3508=0.28x+30580.22x3508 = 0.28x + 3058 - 0.22x
3508=0.06x+30583508 = 0.06x + 3058
450=0.06x450 = 0.06x
x=7500x = 7500 (Amount in Scheme A)
Therefore, Amount in Scheme B = 139007500=640013900 - 7500 = 6400
