Due to increase of 20% in the price of eggs, 2 eggs less are available for Rs 24. The present rate of eggs per dozen is

Correct Option: 1
Let original price per egg be xx rupees
Initially: \newline For Rs 2424, number of eggs = 24x\frac{24}{x}
After 20%20\% increase: \newline New price per egg = 1.2x1.2x rupees
New number of eggs = 241.2x\frac{24}{1.2x}
Given that difference = 22 eggs
24x241.2x=2\frac{24}{x} - \frac{24}{1.2x} = 2
24x20x=2\frac{24}{x} - \frac{20}{x} = 2
4x=2\frac{4}{x} = 2 \newline x=2x = 2 rupees per egg
Present price = 1.2×2=2.41.2 \times 2 = 2.4 rupees per egg
For one dozen eggs = 2.4×12=28.82.4 \times 12 = 28.8 rupees
Therefore, the present rate is Rs 28.828.8 per dozen.
