If there are Rs 495 in a bag in denominations of one-rupee, 50 paisa and 25 paisa coins, which are in the ratio 1 : 8 : 16. How many 50 paisa coins are there in the bag?

Correct Option: 3
Let number of one-rupee coins be xx \newline Then: \newline 50 paisa coins = 8x8x (as ratio is 1:81:8) \newline 25 paisa coins = 16x16x (as ratio is 1:8:161:8:16)
Converting all to paisa: \newline One-rupee coins = x×100x \times 100 paisa \newline 50 paisa coins = 8x×508x \times 50 paisa \newline 25 paisa coins = 16x×2516x \times 25 paisa
Total in paisa = 4950049500 (as total is Rs 495495)
Therefore: \newline 100x+400x+400x=49500100x + 400x + 400x = 49500 \newline 900x=49500900x = 49500 \newline x=55x = 55
Number of 50 paisa coins = 8x=8×55=4408x = 8 \times 55 = 440
